java & compiz

da java 1.5 nicht mit compiz klarkommt, oder andersrum, muss man sich da was einfallen lassen. (java 1.4 soll gehen … hab ich aber selbst nicht probiert)

entweder man killt compiz und benutzt metacity zum starten der anwendung.

metacity –replace &
javaprogramm
compiz –replace gconf &

oder man macht sich ein Xnest:

Xnest :2 -ac -geometry 1024×768+0+0 &

dann da ein windowmanager reintun:

icewm –display :2

und nun dort das javaprogramm starten.

fertig.

xgl & tv

da ja tvtime nicht will muss eben xdtv herhalten …

wobei das ja bei xdtv eine ziehmliche frickelei ist … die konfiguration von tvtime war einfacher und das ergebnis besser …

xgl debian unstable

… mit hilfe dieses howtos, es nutzt die suserpm’s.

Man braucht dazu den xscreensaver … nicht den gnome-screensaver
